Wyoming Guest Ranches ~ Winter Update

Wyoming guest ranches experience sometimes harsh (but always fun!) winters, and we want to share some of our favorite winter moments so far with you! Winter here at the ranch is quiet ~ our last guests depart at the end of September, and our season doesn’t start again until the end of May. As the snow piles up, those of us who are lucky enough to live here year round see a dramatic shift in the activities we get to do.Snow on the ranch!

Instead of horseback riding into the hills overlooking the Tetons, we spend our Saturday mornings building new sledding courses. Instead of drinking tall glasses of lemonade on the front porch of the main lodge, we cozy up and drink hot chocolate (the McGough girls insist that this hot chocolate must be accompanied by at least 3 marshmallows!) And instead of wondering down to the river for an afternoon of fishing, we put on our snowshoes and try to sneak up on elk and moose in the GVRR woods.

As fun as the winter is, we are already looking forward to the beginning of the summer 2014 season for Wyoming guest ranches, a short three and a half months away!
