August 18, 2011

Horseback riding in Jackson Hole is a desired activity, and we provide lots of it at the Gros Ventre River Ranch! We offer two horseback rides a day, plus all day rides, breakfast rides, picnic rides, and more! An all day ride at the Gros Ventre River Ranch may seem daunting–8 hours in the saddle can do that to a person that only rides once a year. However, if you choose to partake in one of our two all day rides, you will likely never forget it. Recently, our guests took advantage of … Continue reading

Why Should We Visit a Wyoming Guest Ranch?

July 27, 2011

Main Lodge - Gros Ventre River Ranch - Jackson Hole Guest Ranch

It has been awhile since the world has been encouraged to take their families on a “dude ranch” vacation. Guests that come to our ranch will be provided with good quality accommodations, food, horses and activities. … Continue reading

It is in this quiet and insulated atmosphere that Tina, Karl, Sean, and I reflect on the recent summer season and muse over the wonderful time spent with our staff and guests in 2010. Our summer started off with a surprise- we were new “parents.” A … Continue reading

New Years Eve Bonfire Tradition

January 4, 2011

Here at the Gros Ventre River Ranch we take our fires seriously. We like them. A lot. That’s why on New Year’s Eve we have kept the tradition of an annual bonfire. Neighbors, friends, and family gather round with coffee, cocoa, and snacks. Snowball fights insue and Christmas trees are even set ablaze. All the debris from a summers worth of cutting down dead trees, picking up loose scraps and chucking old buck rail fence has come to this one glorious moment. One big hot fire that could melt the … Continue reading
