Horseback Riding in Jackson Hole – Visiting the Horses

Horseback riding in Jackson Hole is a unique way to see the valley and to experience the wild open spaces, varied terrain and natural beauty that the West has to offer. We have 80 horses here at the Gros Ventre River Ranch, who lead our guests on varied rides through some of the most beautiful landscapes found in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The Gros Ventre River Ranch horses spend their spring, summer and fall in Jackson, and head to warmer pastures for the winter. We recently visited the horses for the last time this spring, before we head back up to bring them back to Jackson.

Our cavy of 80 horses spends their winter vacation eating, eating and…eating! Below are some pictures of our incredibly happy (and fat!) horses enjoying the early springtime weather in Dubois, Wyoming.

Tuff, enjoying the spring weather!

We can’t wait for our snow to melt, and the horses to come back to our sunny pastures! Until then, they will continue to enjoy the warmer weather that northeast Wyoming has to offer.
